Thank you to the speakers and participants in this highly successful workshop!
Here are some voices from the participants:
“EVI-GTI’s Workshop on Instrumentation demands for Hydrogen & bio-fuels included 37 participants and addressed the challenges of transitioning gas turbines to the fuel streams of the low emissions future energy system. The imperatives for change, and the new role for gas turbines are clear and the speed of change is driving a high level of research and development. The workshop discussed the current state of the art in combustion research and signposted areas for additional investigation. A case study of a pioneering large engine hydrogen co-firing retrofit tests was considered, and an OEM new gas turbine product development technical update was presented – again signalling areas of opportunity for extending instrumentation and systems capability. The workshop heard updates on applicable sensing technologies and considered overall capability gaps and how these might be addressed."
“The workshop clearly highlighted the efforts underway to progressively deliver carbon zero power and propulsion. It also highlighted the dependence on instrumentation, some of which does not yet exist. Such events provide a vital role in alerting the instrumentation supply chain, end users, and OEMs to the needs and opportunities.”
The Organizing Committee is in the process of receiving the final clearances for the workshop presentations to be made available for download.
Downloads will be free of charge for the workshop participants.
For non-participants, the downloads will only be available for the next few weeks and for the charge of the workshop fee. Please contact Oxsensis or the Organizing Committee if you are interested.
The story will continue and more feedback and suggestions e.g. for a follow-up are welcome.
